Where: Jepson Center

Price: Adult $20

The exhibition will feature approximately 40 signature works made between 1959–2018, alongside ephemera such as photographs, letters, periodicals, and journals. The retrospective will concentrate on how Jackson’s consistent references to love and relationships (both human and animal), the human body, geography, history, and music can all be traced to the natural world — informed by an upbringing in the Yukon Territory, significant time spent in Idyllwild, CA, and the past two decades in coastal Georgia.

Additionally, this exhibition importantly connects Jackson’s oeuvre and history to peer artists and thinkers: in Los Angeles and the West Coast during the 1960s–80s including the seminal Gallery 32 she founded and its artistic circle; the theatre communities in California, New Haven, CT, New York, NY, and Philadelphia, PA in the 1990s; and the Savannah, GA art community over the past two decades.

Where: Telfair Museum

Price:$5-$20

This exhibition presents photographic portraits of artists, entertainers, and celebrities from Telfair Museums’ permanent collection. Each of the subjects are virtuosos in their fields: painting, photography, writing, acting, singing, or sports. Dating from the early 20th century to the present day, these portraits vary broadly in presentation of the sitter, showing how the photographers utilized the medium to reinforce or subvert the subjects’ self-image. Many of the photographs fit the following categorizations: carefully staged presentations meant to convey an attitude or profession; posed yet revealing photographs that unmask the sitter’s personality; or candid shots that allow the viewer access into an otherwise unattainable life. Although the photographs show famous faces, they ultimately underscore a common human desire—the yearning to be seen and understood.

After religious spinster's (Katharine Hepburn) missionary brother is killed in WWI Africa, dissolute steamer captain (Humphrey Bogart) offers her safe passage. She's not satisfied so she persuades him to destroy a German gunboat. The two spend most of their time fighting with each other rather than the Germans. Time alone on the river leads to love.

Where: Tybee Post Theater

Price: $25-$30

Multi-instrumentalist Randall Bramblett may be known for playing on stage with rock’s legends like Bonnie Raitt, The Allman Brothers Band, Steve Winwood and Widespread Panic.  And respected for his songwriting – he penned the title track for the Grammy-nominated Blind Boys of Alabama’s new album, adding to a long catalog of songs covered by Raitt, Gregg Allman, Bonnie Bramlett, Hot Tuna, Delbert McClinton and more.

But it’s Bramblett’s own career as frontman where his artistry is in full display. He continues his storied career with continual reinvention and true conviction on his 11th album, Juke Joint at the Edge of the World.  Funky and fun.

This live show – following two previous sold-out shows at the Post — is thoroughly vibrant, with a top-shelf band who command the stage and connect with the audience.  With a commitment to the necessary evolution of music, Bramblett has kept his solo career as fresh as the day it began.  Reason #528 he is Georgia’s Musical Treasure.

Bonnie Raitt proclaims “You can’t do better than Randall Bramblett.”

“One of the South’s most lyrical and literate songwriters.”  Rolling Stone

So, get your tickets early and don’t miss him this time!
